"You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth." - Kahlil Gibran (1883 - 1931)
Consultation for parents and legal guardians: I am regularly approached by caregivers who seek guidance on supporting their child's emotional and behavioural difficulties.
With the advancement of digital technology, children and caregivers each face increasingly complex challenges with self-acceptance, self-care, maintaining healthy boundaries, and living well (on 'Planet Earth' as I often call it). Trauma, loss, anxiety and depression profoundly compound these challenges.
Attachment is the bond between the infant and caregiver. This vital relationship influences our emotional, physical and social development throughout our lives. It influences how we understand our feelings; how we decide what we need and want; and how we relate to others. Attachment also influences how we heal - and seek support - when suffering trauma.
Caregivers benefit from my specialism in children and young people, by exploring their child's process as well as their own process, and by making informed decisions about how to heal - both their child and themselves.
I am a Barnardo's registered Adoptions and Attachment Focused Therapist, and am therefore legally permitted to work therapeutically with issues around adoption, foster care and guardianship.
