"Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing." - Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919)
My name is Pritiva Attiken.
I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and an Accredited Member of the BACP. I have been in clinical practice for over 10 years.
I obtained my honours degree in Psychology from Goldsmiths College, London in 2004, and my diploma with distinction in Therapeutic Counselling, specialising in work with Children and Young People, from the Northern Guild for Psychotherapy in 2009. I received my BACP accredited status in 2011, and my approved adoptions therapist status from Barnardo's in 2013.
Although I now hold an adult-only practice, I have worked with children, young people and adults all across Yorkshire from 2008 until 2017. My decision to cease working with children and young people was a difficult one, as I - over nearly 10 years - steadily came to the conclusion that the most effective healing for youngsters takes place through their caregivers (please see my Consultancy page for more information).
Safeguarding and multi-agency working: I am experienced in advocating for the wellbeing of my clients - and those around them - who may be at risk of harm, whilst firmly holding client confidentiality at the heart of my work.
My clinical practice is at Wellspring Complementary Health Centre, 22a Holme Lane, Sheffield S6 4JQ, on Fridays and Saturdays. As would be expected I hold enhanced DBS certification and indemnity insurance. My fee is £40 per hour. My current area of interest is techniques in mindfulness and relaxation.
